On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting for an IT Manager to join their team of dedicated professionals in Halifax, Nova Scotia.


As the IT Manager you will be accountable for the management, strategy and execution of all IT related infrastructure. You will lead/oversee the technology operation, servicing clients and a team of employees. In this position, you are responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. You will ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational and security standards, providing technical support and direction.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage information technology and computer systems and set up and maintain backup processes, ensuring security of data, network access and backup systems.
• Purchase hardware equipment (computers, mobile devices, networking equipment),
• Manage software licenses and maintain the networking infrastructures for the company.
• Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
• Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
• Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
• Preserve assets, information security and control structures
• Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks, computer workstations, connections to the Internet and peripheral equipment
• Assist with new IT infrastructure in future offices

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• 5+ years relevant IT experience, preferably in a management role
• Extensive experience supporting Mac environments is a must
• Experience working with PC computers and other technologies
• Working knowledge of Windows, macOS, iOS and Android operating systems
• Strong knowledge of technical management, information analysis and computer hardware/software systems
• Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
• Experience in systems administration, IT troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of networking infrastructure
• Experience with Business Continuity Plans and Disaster Recovery Operations
• BS in Computer Science, MIS or similar field
