We are recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant on behalf of our client, CFFI Ventures. CFFI Ventures Inc. is a diversified holding company investing internationally in a variety of industry segments including seafood harvesting and processing, biofuels, telecommunications and other private investments. CFFI operates in a professional yet casual family office and is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join its team.

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting and working with other members of the finance team, this position is responsible for the monthly financial reporting and related working papers of the Company and its subsidiaries. The candidate must have superior written and oral communication skills, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills as well as a strong background in financial accounting. This position plays a key role in the finance team of CFFI. The Company is constantly evolving and growing; the successful candidate will thrive when working on complex and unusual transactions.

  • Primary Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of quarterly internal and external financial statements which are used by the Company’s senior management and executive team, external investors, and lenders;
  •  Preparation of monthly account reconciliations, working papers and reports;
  •  Assistance with year-end audit for several companies. This would include any required research on GAAP standards and drafting audited financial statements;
  •  Assisting with the annual preparation of budgets;
  •  Special projects within the Finance group as required including various analytical procedures and preparation of ad-hoc reports.


  • The successful candidate will be a qualified CPA with:
  • A solid background in financial reporting and analysis;
  •  Experience working with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises;
  •  Excellent analytical skills and the ability to meet strict and constant deadlines;
  •  Strong interpersonal skills including ability to work with non-financial personnel;
  •  Experience working in a team environment with the desire to seek continuous improvement;
  •  Strong sense of time management and task prioritization:
  •  Proficient use of the Microsoft office suite including Excel, Outlook and Word;
  •  Previous experience with SAP or other accounting software is considered an asset
