We are pleased to partner with Inland Technologies to recruit an innovative and curious Engineer to their team in Truro, NS.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Engineer will be the go-to person for technical in-house expertise on a variety of projects from pump and distillation skids to Glycol Concentrators. Working with existing equipment, you’ll come up with concept sketches and a design to enhance the process to fit Inland technologies as best as possible. You’ll own the innovation process as you build and test concept models, track performance parameters, ultimately becoming the expert allowing you to teach the rest of the team as well as providing client support as needed. You’ll also be responsible for defining and sizing equipment and instrumentation, developing or refining process maps and P&ID’s, performing design calculations as well as managing supporting documentation for Inland processes and equipment. While travel is required, the frequency and duration are dependent on project requirements and is planned well in advance.

As the ideal candidate you have more than 5 years of technical engineering and design experience related to mechanical, industrial or chemical processing industries as well as a professional Engineering designation, Engineer in Training designation or a post-secondary degree in the engineering field. You have a desire to be the technical expert in your field, taking ownership over designs and refining them as needed. You feel at home analyzing mechanical systems such as heat exchangers, pump selection, valves, pipe sizing, etc and have a proven ability to develop concepts and designs based on research and technical investigations. You have great organizational and time management skills, are detail oriented, and have a demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities. You’re a team player who has demonstrated ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders leveraging a communication style that engages a varied audience.
