On behalf of the Crosbie Group of Companies we are seeking a Director, Commercial – Industrial Services to be based in St. John’s, NL. Reporting to the Group Vice President, Finance and Commercial, the Director, Commercial – Industrial Services would lead the commercial, cost control, finance and procurement functions of the industrial services divisions of the company. As a hands on and engaged leader you will champion commercial excellence and continuous improvement across all operations to achieve or exceed our contractual and organizational targets.

Leading the commercial and cost control requirements across the industrial services operations, you will direct bidding, pricing and contractual activities ensuring management of requisite norms, highlighting key commercial risks and establishing appropriate mitigation strategies. You will also maintain relationships with key clients ensuring thorough understanding of client commercial requirements and opportunities for improvement. Possessing exceptional commercial and collaboration skills, you will work together with the accounting, procurement, client services and other teams, to ensure contractual and client requirements are translated into cost control and service delivery activities designed to support flawless contract execution.

The Director, Commercial – Industrial Services will be responsible for cost control monitoring and billing for all industrial services companies ensuring accuracy, quality and proactive client communication. S/he will also be responsible for budget stewardship across all industrial services operations, supporting the development of standardized financial reporting processes and timely measurement of key performance indicators driven from the budget and strategic plan. You will thrive in your role as process efficiency champion, continuously improving finance processes and driving simplicity.

Our ideal candidate is a confident, engaged leader who is able to guide and coach direct reports while enabling them to maintain a high degree of independence and accountability. S/he is an excellent communicator, adept at maintaining an open and positive approach when delivering commercial and financial progress, as well as identifying commercial and financial challenges with all stakeholders, including clients, and subcontractors. You possess a logical thought process when resolving issues, strategizing in diverse situations as they arise. A proven commercial leader, experienced at working with diverse clients in varied geographic locations, you are self-disciplined, and knowledgeable in the application of commercial, cost control, accounting and procurement principals and practices.

Success in this role requires a demonstrated track record of success in a lead or management role within an industrial environment with specialty in commercial, cost control, accounting and procurement functions. This experience will include a minimum ten years lead and/or managerial experience; combined with a post secondary education in business, supply chain, engineering or other relevant post-secondary education. An accounting Designation or Project Management specialty (PMP or other certification) would be considered an asset.
