We’re proud to partner with CFY seeking a Manager of Financial Services to join their finance team and support their organization’s mission! This pivotal role not only upholds their financial health but also propels their vision forward by ensuring strategic budgeting, seamless financial reporting, and rigorous compliance with funding sources. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Business Operations, Finance, and Education, Employment and Social Enterprise (EESE), you'll be at the financial helm, steering CFY towards sustainability and impact. As a collaborative and consultative leader, you'll empower your team and cultivate partnerships across departments and with stakeholders, elevating collective success through shared goals and open dialogue. Beyond your financial expertise, your strength lies in a strong people-focus. You thrive on building relationships and engaging with others, blending your financial knowledge with exceptional interpersonal abilities.


Key Responsibilities


• Lead the financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and transparency.
• Drive the annual budgeting process in collaboration with program managers and departments to align financial planning with the strategic goals.
• Oversee the annual audit process and work with external auditors to ensure compliance, professionalism, and transparency.
• Champion financial policies and procedures, enhancing organizational integrity and accountability.
• Oversee compliance and reporting for federal and provincial programs, ensuring CFY meets their commitments and continues to secure funding.
• Foster inter-departmental coordination and support program funding tracking, enhancing program effectiveness and financial sustainability.
• Oversee the financial management of grants, from application to compliance and reporting, ensuring maximization of resources for maximum impact.

 

Desired Skills and Qualifications


• A passionate leader with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• CPA designation or enrollment in the program is considered an asset.
• Strong people-focus, ready to join a team that values hard work, energy, and enthusiasm.
• Accounting experience preparing financial statements and budgets, preferably in the non-profit sector, with a proven track record of financial and project management excellence.
• Proven experience in preparing for and facilitating external audits, understanding of audit processes and the ability to effectively manage and work with auditors, with a strong emphasis on ensuring compliance, professionalism, and transparency.
• Collaborate effectively across various programs and departments; adept at explaining budgets, extracting vital information, and working across all levels of the organization to educate on financial matters such as budgeting and financial reporting.
• Very detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Familiarity with grant reporting requirements and ability to interpret complex grant agreements.
• Knowledge of best practices in program budgeting and financial tracking in the nonprofit sector as well as ability to adapt to changing funding landscapes and regulatory environments.
• Experience in financial system upgrades and implementation is considered an asset.
• Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office, knowledge of Simply Accounting (Sage 50) is preferred.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Screening and Vulnerable Sector Check that is bondable.
