Our client, a leading provider of end of the line packaging systems with over 50 years within Canada and globally, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technologist to support in the Whitby manufacturing workshop.
As a Mechanical Engineering Technologist you will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and components. Working closely with our engineering team, you will contribute to the creation of innovative solutions that meet and exceed client expectations. This is an exciting opportunity for a meticulous professional who thrives in a collaborative and challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and refine mechanical designs for Unitizers/Strapping Machines.
- Use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Conduct feasibility studies and assist in the development of project specifications.
- Perform testing, analysis, and validation of mechanical components and systems.
- Provide technical support during the assembly processes and adhere to continuous improvements with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of mechanical systems with other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to design, testing, and quality control.
Key Qualifications:
- Advance Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.
- 0-2 Years of experience working in a similar role, preferably in the Automation Industry.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, such as CREO and AUTOCAD.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
