Role Description

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the Senior US Sales Manager will take the lead in delivering Ganong products and licensed products to the US market. As part of the senior leadership team, this position will involve collaboration with the current sales team, marketing, supply chain operations and operations to both enter and service the US market ongoing.

A strategic thinker and leader, The Senior US Sales manager will be hands on in all the aspects of lead generation, pitches and presentations, with a focus on relationship growth and opportunity fit.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies, with a focus on new business and individual account growth in the US;
  • Foster strategic partnerships with top-tier accounts to maximize account growth and market penetration;
  • Manage relationships with large key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention;
  • Identify new distributors and brokers as a part of new business growth;
  • Collaborate with distributors and brokers to develop sales plans, promotional activities, and merchandising strategies;
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the branded sales team, including coaching, and training to drive performance excellence;
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and budgets, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market trends;
  • Provide valuable insights and recommendations to support product development, pricing strategies, and promotional initiatives;
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the sales program, identifying areas for optimization and innovative practices;
  • Stay updated on industry developments, emerging trends, and innovative sales techniques to maintain a competitive edge in the market.

Your Qualifications

As the ideal candidate, you are an “ambidextrous” sales professional with 10+ years of experience in confection. You possess a growth mindset, and have experience identifying, securing and managing ongoing buyer and account relationships, along with broker and distributor contacts. You have a deep understanding of branding, and can leverage that to improve positioning in the confection market. You’re adaptable and welcome innovation to allow for business expansion and growth, and you foster an environment of enthusiasm, genuine connection, and a strong sense of family and community.

Your qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field;
  • 10+ years of experience in senior sales positions within confectionery or food manufacturing;
  • Proven success in collaborative strategy development and execution;
  • A reputation for the relentless pursuit of strategically viable new business;
  • Proven track record of success in managing large key accounts and top-tier customers;
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards performing against the overall revenue program;
  • Excellent analytical abilities with a strategic mindset and a data-driven approach to decision-making;
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish long-term relationships with customers and stakeholders;
  • Proficiency in sales forecasting, budgeting, and sales analytics;
  • Experience in using CRM’s to manage new business pipelines;
  • Willingness to travel as needed;
  • Experience in new product introduction and new market entry;
  • Fluency in English and Spanish would be an asset.
